Dean Rojas, Bassmaster Elite Angler

Dean Rojas, Bassmaster Elite Angler

Dean Rojas started his fishing career like many other pros did, as a kid. Fishing for pan fish for entertainment during the summer days led to a passion...BASS! There can be precious little to do when your a kid on summer break, but bass fishing is probably the best.

Dean was born in Minneola, NY on July 31, 1971. He and his family relocated to the San Diego area when he was 3. Fishing was something to do as a kid, and payed off quite well later in life. To date he has earned over 1.2 million dollars as a professional angler. He is sponsored by SPRO lures, Gander Mountain, Yamaha, Oakley, Skeeter boats and many others.

Some of his statistics include 8 times in the Bassmaster Classic, 93 times winning money and merchandise, 29 top 10 finishes, and 3 first place finishes. In 2008 at Oneida Lake , Dean Rojas won the Bassmaster Elite tournament by nearly 5 pounds using his shallow water and sight fishing skills. That one tournament netted 130,000 dollars and the respect of the bass fishing community. Thanks to his SPRO frog, which he designed, he has shown a very exiting way to catch bass.

Top water fishing is the most exiting way to land bass, and Dean has made it into an art form. He and his frog, he calls Kermit, continue to place well in the Bassmaster tournaments and earn money for his family. His wife Renee and sons Austin and Cameron have many reasons to be proud of him.
