My Secret
There are no real "secrets" to catching bass. Knowledge alone will improve success! My secret is how I made this website. It is still evolving but I hope you enjoy it! First of all let me say that I really enjoy passing on the information I have about bass fishing. I don't know it all and I learn every time I go fishing. But for me that is the point. I really love bass fishing! THE BEGINNING I started fishing when I was just a kid. You know, a worm and a bobber and that old Zebco rod. It didn't matter what the weather was or where I was, as long as I was fishing. I knew nothing about bass or lures or even where the fish gathered besides some place past the shoreline. "Ah someday I'll have a boat so I can catch the big ones" I thought to myself. One day fishing off a dock on Lake Ontario I hooked a nice largemouth. To be honest, at the time I didn't know what kind of bass it was, it just wasn't a sunfish. I landed it and took it home. I was so happy the tires on my bike were smoking by the time I got home. Everyone was so proud of the "little fisherman" and I was encouraged to catch more. Everybody likes fresh fish! THE JOURNEY...KNOWLEDGE From that day on I decided to learn all I could about fishing. We had a little tackle shop down the road and I would stop in frequently to quiz the owner on what to use. After collecting cans I purchased my very first lure, a Jitterbug that looked like a frog. I think the owner of the shop wanted me to have something I wouldn't loose too soon! I caught a lot of fish on that lure, until I got snapped off on something big! You never know what swims out there. The fishing quest continued and then one day in 1992 I had a son. Boy did things get busy after that! I would take him fishing as much as I could, but with kids you don't do much fishing yourself. As the chores and need for money increased, my fishing got less and less. There were weeks on end that I never even thought about going. After my grandfather passed away I did a lot of soul searching. You always knew life does end, but I guess losing someone makes you realize how short life is! I decided to get interested in things I had not done in sometime and just enjoy the simple pleasures in life: family and fishing. I was going to fish like it was my job! A BIG DISCOVERY I read every article I could get my hands on and purchased several videos and courses. Every time I learned something I would go try it until I understood it. It wasn't too long and I really got good at fishing. My friends would ask me how I catch so many fish when they could not. "You ought to teach a class" some would say. I never really took it to heart, but one day of searching the internet, I stumbled on something...SBI! They said they could teach me how to build a website about something I was passionate about. But I didn't know anything about website design... no problem they said. But I can barely even use a computer! no problem they said. There aren't too many days that I don't catch fish, but at the end of the day I am thankful for just having the opportunity to go fishing. My secret second "job", building a website, does not even take up much time. Do you have a driving passion like that? Maybe there is something you used to do, that you really enjoyed, but just don't have the time to do anymore. What if you could make time? You get no return on your money in a savings account and we all know how risky the stock market can be! It's a great feeling to be out of debt and have a cushion for the unexpected.
