Palomar Knot

Another necessary, and VERY easy fishing knot to tie is the palomar knot. This is what holds the hook on a drop shot rig. .

If the eye on the hook is large enough, bend the line in half where you want the hook to be. Pass this loop through the eye . If the eye is too small, run the working end through the eye, then back out to make a loop.

Make on overhand knot around the standing line near the eye of the hook.

Run the loop of the overhand knot around the hook, wet the line and cinch it down tight. With a drop shot you want to leave enough line to make up the distance to your sinker. Work the knot down slowly and adjust it to keep the hook at a 90 degree angle to the line.
