Uni Knot
The humble Uni Knot might replace a couple knots you already know. The first use could save you tons of grief. Has your eyesight gotten worse over the years? Maybe your hands have gotten a bit stiff too. When you combine a rocking boat with bad eyes and some wind, tying your line can be a real pain. You could cheat by always using a snap swivel, but it will kill the action of a lot of lures. This one might help you out. Let's tie it on a hook...

Run the line through the eyelet and make a loop with the working end.

Run the working end around the standing line and the loop you made.

Make several wraps, and you end up with the working end sticking out of the loop.

Tighten the wraps, wet the line and just pull the standing line while holding the hook or lure. Done.
Now, let's join two lines together with the Double Uni Knot...

Put the two lines together, pointing in opposite directions. Make your wraps and end up with the working end sticking out of the loop.

Tighten the wraps and tie a single uni on the other line.

Tighten the wraps, wet the line, and pull the lines in opposite directions. Pretty cool huh?
