VMC Hooks

VMC hooks have been landing fish for a long time on many different brand lures. Not all fishing days are created equal and neither are the hooks. When you are struggling to figure exactly what the bass want, VMC's Sure Set hooks will land those short strikes that you would otherwise miss. These hooks are standard on select

and will definitely land you more fish. This will turn your favorite crankbait into a fish grabbin' machine!
Both largemouth and smallmouth can get in an awful mood, and what worked just yesterday may only produce a half-hearted strike today. They miss by just a tad, and one shot at a big bass maybe all you get. We all know the words that come to mind when you see that slammer just tap the lure. Son of a biscuit!
Well the really good news is you can buy Sure Set hooks separately. Generally you do not use these hooks on the lead hook unless there is a long lip on the lure. You can always add this hook to the rear as a great stinger. If the bass are constantly hitting the back hook and you can't trigger a more aggressive strike, the it is definitely time to add a Sure Set. You will be a believer the first time that bass is hanging on by only that wide gap hook!
Another good thing is these VMC hooks will not disturb the swimming action of the lure. The rear hook is placed with the wide gap up, and the front hook should have the wide gap down. Again if you are using a short lip lure, just use the original inline treble hook up front. These hooks hug the bait and have super sharp points for maximum hook up. You won't even know they are on there, except that all of a sudden you're getting more hook ups!
